Season 5 will be released on the 31 July 2022 (26 episodes confirmed, but other news sources have indicated it might be 52 episodes)

It was quick, I can't believe it's already here, that's both amazing and a little scary though. It has high quality in most levels and categories so hopefully it stays at least the same as last season or better.

Nah it shouldnt not with the studio dropping Wudong Qiankun and developing this Doupo Cangqiong and it's "sequel" The Great Ruler :)

Some people watch only action scenes, some people watch it for the story, I have read the novel so I know what will occur, I am more for the story, since the donghua follows the novel more or less I can expect some slow pacing, regardless of how the story is for season 5, it has to happen anyway to get to season 6 and onward :) So dwelling on "how bad" or "how good" the story will be doesnt change one thing, it isnt under our control lol

People have different opinions and tastes, so I might say it will be good while another will say it is trash, either way once it starts streaming we will know, but so far from what I am seeing from trailers, it is looking pretty good

its better than this one it seems now studio magic is fully consecrated on BTTH and it shows with how fast they're giving us a full 52 ep season 5 and s6 right around the corner after as its already in the making

watching the trailer on youtube and seeing the plots they are adapting, probably we will be getting 52 episode since it will be impossible to put in just 26 eps except if they remove and skip things

mhm, there are a lot of contents, so totally agree 26 episodes wont be able to fit all of them, the studio already filed 26 episodes with the Chinese censorship administration and those were approved, the news source that said it will be 52 episodes is pretty reliable, but until I see it confirmed I cant really say much otherwise I will get roasted lol

for people that want to pick up BTTH and havent yet i reccomend you start from Doupo Cangqiong - Yuanqi (Origin) its studio Magics adaptation of s1 of BTTH as s1 was originally adapted by a diferent studio the older s1 has a bit more charecter details than the condensed 3 ep version but story wise your not missing anything by just watching the 3 ep one and go to the first specials of meeting Yun Yun before starting s2 chronologically speaking

further update s5 has 52 ep and s6 is already in the making we wont be waiting much longer for S6 after s5 ends ^_^

I don't get why everyone is talking about plot armor maybe I'm accustomed to ridiculous amounts of plot armor. Or maybe this is the natural flow of the story. I mean everything seemed plausible. Think about it wouldn't it make sense for a sect to have some outer line of defense? The sand beast, quick sand and whirlwind could've been it. If Xiao Dan hadn't been there Lin Dong would've been gone. As for the old dude let's not act like Ling Dong has never encountered some old dudes spirit. The only thing that was maybe a stretch was the pills and even that is kinda plausible. If he's fighting a bunch of beast he'll need pill to recover his strength rapidly. So to me it makes sense and besides they're on a TREASURE ground they're eventually going to find some "good stuf"

Bruh this man got chased by a giant sand worm, fell into quick sand got dragged into a underground cave still pursued by the sand worm. Then went into a dangerous electric whirlwind formation almost died, but luckily Xiao Diao helped him. By improving his jade body they manage to escape, just to discover a ancient sect person long lost his life and a course plot armor happens, and Lin Dong see the men past memories of a terrible event taking place.A course the man had nirvana pills, basically I'm saying boy, boy, boy plot armor sure make MC work for it XD. Also this weasel men dare hurt Xiao Yan I'm glad Karma served him a dish nice and sweet for his demise lol.

Somehow, I felt that xiaoyan is only useful as a mount. No tiger ferocity just constant roaring from to time. No ripping people to shreds or at least bite and snap someone's throat or spinal cord. Might as well be another horse or Impala.

So far WDQK is worth the money (actually it's free,lol). Good Karmic ending to the villain at the end.

Ignoring the quality of the animation for a moment, seems like the new studio is not doing a good job on the pacing the story out, I havent watched the series yet, saving it for bingefest lol. It might be due to a lack of experience, this is the second donghua they have attempted, sadly Motion Magic that did season 1 and 2 is busy with Doupo Cangqiong and might have have been affected by the recent lockdown

Yea, they cut out lot of story content just to do action parts.

I don't know how this season will end in the middle of events or badly cut content like first season where they cut out whole faction war in the city. This time there are only 2 episodes left and there is still so much content inside this treasury it is not possible to fit. Probably best option is ending in the middle of the shit.

I'm not really looking forward to that. Season 5 story is the worst part of the novel the part after 3 year agreement until after the war with the sect is really bland where nothing really happens. Not to mention they made season 3 complete flop by pointless nonsensical changes to the story. If I guess correctly blandness of the story will be filled with fighting random low level mobs while he is being chased. Season 3 without pointless memories, dumb puppet fight and changing the way he won alchemy competition would be far better, but that would only be 13-15 episodes where everything else is added by someone who doesn't really know story before and after

Season 6 (after destroying sect) is when the story opens, at least in the novel it is like that. There it gets far better from everything before and continues with same tact well up to 20 chapters before ending, which is god damn horrible until you realize BTTH really ends in TGR which puts a really nice conclusion to BTTH.

I'm more looking forward to TGR, that is by far best story from same author and same studio already announced it and posted trailers.

I don't really agree on my end. The end of last season clearly sets the plot going about looking for the runes and the story goes quite quickly in that direction, without dragging out the fights needlessly. It's true that in terms of internal character development we don't see much though.

n.b. I didn't read the novel so I may be wrong and we're actually missing a lot of story and/or background information.

The most irritating inconsintency plot about this donghua is their flying ability..wtf

i don't mind the subpar action but Lin Dong getting plot armor every encounter so he can get at least one power-up is kinda rubbing me off. I guess thats what this season all about. MC getting demon appearance change, even tiger got appearance change. What's next? The floating blue "squirrel" turns into a dragon?
